Here at Prim and Proper Pups our goal is to encourage puppies to explore, be adventurous, socialize, and so much more.
Our end result is for you to have a puppy with basic tools for daily living. We can achieve this by utilizing the teaching technique called Positive Reinforcement. What is this, you may ask? Positive Reinforcement was created by B.F. Skinner, a well known behaviorist who thought outside the box, by creating his own. Positive Reinforcement is one of the four quadrants in the In Operant Conditioning Process that Skinner created. I won’t bore you with details concerning all four. We focus on using the Positive Reinforcement. Now the definition is what you think it might me. One task…one reward. The goal is to add something desirable to the process, or in this case “command”, to encourage repeated behavior. The most common form of P.R. is dog treats, but that’s not all there is. Giving praise or using a favorite toy can also achieve P.R. Prim and Proper Pups will use the P.R. to teach your pup the desired behavior.
WE TEACH NOT TRAIN!
